Here you will have a space to breathe. In Helsinki, you can experience the autumn foliage, in Finnish called “ruska”, typically at the end of September – beginning of October. The first two nights of the tour will be spent in the old industrial neighborhood, Pasila Konepaja, where the Folks Hotel Konepaja is located. This unique neighborhood offers trendy bars and restaurants, as well as urban surroundings and a great location to reach the city center. Enjoy the seasonal flavors inspired by the European kitchen in the Albina Restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel. The Folks Hotel has its own Sauna Center where you can enjoy both a traditional Finnish Sauna as well as a steam room.

FOUR SEASONS OF FINLAND:

Finland has four distinct seasons. Winter, spring, summer and autumn. They are all different depending where about in Finland you are visiting. Although in southern and central Finland, the snow season lasts from December until March or April, then comes the beautiful spring followed by the lively summer. Autumn months are September-November.

AUTUMN WEATHER IN HELSINKI:

Autumn season typically begins at the beginning of September. The best time for beautiful autumn foliage in the Helsinki area, in Finnish called “ruska”, is at the end of September. As autumn brings a rainier climate to Finland it is always good to take an umbrella with you when heading out. The first snowfall is usually in October – November.

PRELIMINARY ITINERARY OF YOUR TRAVEL PACKAGE

Itinerary

Please note this is a preliminary itinerary which you can modify in our booking system according to your customer´s wishes. Final travel itinerary will be formed depending on your modifications.

DAY 1

After landing in “the land of a thousand lakes”, you will be picked up from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and transferred to the Folks Hotel Konepaja. Settle into your room and enjoy some welcome drinks at the hotel lobby before a delicious dinner at Restaurant Albina. On the first evening, you don’t have to leave too far from your hotel as Restaurant Albina is located on the ground floor of the building. Before the dinner, you can also experience Folks Hotel Sauna Center, where you can enjoy both a traditional Finnish sauna as well as a steam room.

DAY 2

Start your day with a varied breakfast buffet, after that, you can head to the city center which is easy to reach by tram or metro. There are multiple activity options available in Helsinki; visit unique museums, Central Library Oodi, Old Market Hall, the fascinating Temppeliaukio “Rock” Church, or maybe hop on a ferry and explore the beautiful archipelago of Helsinki. In the evening you can enjoy dinner at atmospheric Restaurant Albina or in some of the other great restaurants in the Konepaja neighborhood.

DAY 3

This morning you will have time to explore Puu-Vallila, Old Wooden House District, which is located right next to Konepaja. Take a short walk around Vallila and admire old wooden houses built 1900-1920´s. Maybe enjoy lunch in the Kallio neighborhood where you will find nice restaurants and trendy cafes as well.

Midday you will be transported to Espoo, Haltia Lake Lodge. Check in, settle into your lodge, and enjoy the nature around you. On your first night in Haltia you can just relax and enjoy a three-course dinner at Restaurant Haltia or Bar menu at Haltia Lake Lodge.

DAY 4

After a good night’s sleep in your nest-like lodge, you´ll have a fresh and filling breakfast before an easy hiking adventure. The marked trail is approximately 2 km long and it runs through the beginner-friendly surroundings of Haltia. You will get a small backpack from reception with some gourmet camping food. The excursion concludes at the public hut located below Haltia, where you can prepare your lunch by the fireplace and admire the beautiful nature around you. For dinner, you can enjoy appetizing flavors at Restaurant Haltia or Bar menu at Haltia Lake Lodge.

DAY 5

Have a slow morning with a tasty breakfast in a peaceful setting before your beautiful last day in Nuuksio. You will be picked up from Haltia Lake Lodge and transferred to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Forest hike in Nuuksio National Park (self-guided)

Transportation in Helsinki-Nuuksio

The driver will be waiting for you with a name sign in the arrivals hall. Also transportation between Folks Hotel and Haltia is included in the package.
